About Us
Outdoor Recreation offers a wide range of services, programs, and facilities. These are offered at low cost to active duty and retired military, reservists, civilian employees, and dependents 18 years of age or older. Outdoor Rec’s large equipment rental center features everything from campers and camping equipment to bounce houses, power tools and much more. So stop by and see how Outdoor Rec can meet your needs.

Programs & Services
Equipment Rental
Outdoor Recreation offers a wide range of rental equipment which include campers and camping equipment to bounce houses, power tools and more. See the Outdoor Recreation Price List for a full listing of rental items.
Trips & Programs
Looking for something fun to do or new to try? Sit back, relax, and let Outdoor Rec do all the planning! We host a multitude of exciting, challenging, and educational programs for the beginner and the expert.
Some of our year-round programs include camping, biking, zip lining, skydiving, whitewater rafting, log rolling and more!
All of our programs, unless otherwise specified, are suitable for the beginner. Our highly trained staff will ensure you have fun while learning something along the way.
RV Storage
Outdoor Recreation manages 4 RV storage lots on Wright-Patt.
Fees are $28/month for RVs under 25ft; $35/month for RVs 25ft and over.

FamCamp
Located adjacent Bass Lake Recreation Area, FamCamp is operated year-round and offers tent camping and 54 RV sites with partial and full hookup. Amenities include on site laundry facilities and climate-controlled restroom, shower facilities and more.
Swimming Pools
Wright-Patterson AFB offers 3 opportunities for swimming on and near the base. The indoor pool is located inside Dodge Fitness Center and is for lap swimming and fitness classes. Patterson Pool and Prairies Pool are outdoor pools open for seasonal swimming May through September.
Scout Camp
Primitive camping for Scouts or youth groups is only a short drive from the United States Air Force Museum. Spend a night or the whole weekend! Camping spaces include picnic tables, fire rings, small amphitheater, toilets and drinking water.
Recharge for Resiliencey Program (R4R)
Active Duty and Reservists are eligible for discounted program prices through the Recharge for Resiliency (R4R) Program. R4R consists of 3 programs RecOn, Single Airman, and Deployed Affected.
Single Airman Programs
Air Force Active Duty officer or enlisted member without a spouse or geographically single.
RecOn Programs
Air Force Active Duty and reserve component members and their spouses and dependents.
Deployed Affected Programs
Deployed-affected and dependent restricted assigned Air Force personnel and their family members. Eligible from time of orders to deploy up to 1 year following the return of service member.
- Outdoor Recreation facilities are only open to those with base access including Active Duty military, retired military, DOD civilians, DOD contractors and dependents with DD Form 1173.
