There are two Human Resources offices at Wright-Patterson that can assist you in finding your career with the federal government. They are the Civilian Personnel Office and the NAF Human Resources Office.

Civilian Personnel Office

The Civilian Personnel Office at Wright-Patterson AFB supports and advises all appropriated, federal civilian employees across Air Force Materiel Command. We support new hires through the onboarding process and advise current personnel on human resources concerns and administrative procedures.

Some of our services include: pre-employment, background investigation initiation, new employee orientation, personnel operations, employee-management relations, and labor relations.

NAF Human Resources Office

Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) employees are Federal employees paid from funds self-generated by the facilities and locations where NAF employees work. NAF employees work in activities in the Force Support Squadron providing morale, welfare, recreation and services to active duty and retired military, family members, and authorized civilians. A variety of employment opportunities are located in Child Development Centers, Youth Centers, Club, Golf Course, Bowling Center, Lodging, Outdoor Recreation as well as other activities. NAF employees can be hired as Flexible or Regular Part-Time (RPT)/Full-Time (RFT).

Flexible: Can work 0-40 hours per week, subject to on-call work

Regular Part-Time (RPT): Guaranteed workweek of 20-34 hours per week

Regular Full-Time (RFT): Guaranteed workweek of 35-40 hours per week

RFT/RPT are also eligible to participate in all benefits to include health/dental/life insurance, NAF Retirement, 401(k) and earn paid annual, sick leave and holidays.

The NAF HR Office is open for appointments Mondays – Fridays, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM and for walk-in assistance on Tuesdays, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

NAF Employment Eligibility & Restrictions

  • U.S. Citizens (must be 16 years of age)
  • Non-US Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. (Proof of citizenship/status must be presented prior to hiring)
  • Some positions have minimum age requirements of 18 and 21
  • Current full-time civil service (GS/Appropriated) employees are not prohibited from NAF employment, however, Dual Employment restrictions do not allow an employee to receive compensation from more than one civilian office or position of the Government of the United States for more than an aggregate of 40 hours of work in any one calendar week. Exception: US Postal Service Positions.
  • Current full-time AAFES fund employees are not prohibited from NAF employment, however, Dual Employment restrictions do not allow an employee to receive compensation from more than one civilian office or position of the Government of the United States for more than an aggregate of 40 hours of work in any one calendar week.
  • Appropriated fund employees who retired after 30 Mar 94 with an incentive offer are restricted from NAF employment for a period of five (5) years unless the incentive is returned.
  • Former active duty military members who separated on or after 1 Oct 94 and received Voluntary Separation Incentive Pay (VSIP) or Special Separation Benefits (SSB) will forfeit benefits if hired within 180 days of separation.
